Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams, each typically consisting of nine players. The game is played on a diamond-shaped field with four bases: first base, second base, third base, and home plate. The objective of the game is for the batting team to score runs by hitting the ball and running around the bases, returning to home plate. The opposing team, known as the fielding team, aims to prevent runs through various defensive strategies, including catching the ball, throwing it to different bases, and getting batters or runners out.

A baseball game consists of nine innings, with each team having a turn to bat and a turn to field in each inning. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins. Scoring can occur when a player successfully reaches home plate after touching all four bases in order. Baseball involves various skills such as hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running. It’s known for its rich history and tradition, particularly in the United States, where it is often referred to as America’s pastime. The Professional Baseball leagues, such as Major League Baseball (MLB), play a central role in the sport’s popularity and culture.
